Tow truck drivers are hoping the new "Move Over" law will help keep them safe as they respond to accidents and stranded drivers on roads all across Virginia, per NBC12.

With the new law, there are now harsher penalties if you don't move over for a first responder on the side of the highway, but towing companies are reminding everyone that law also applies to them. An amendment to the law includes not only a traffic citation, but also reckless driving, which can result in either a year in jail or a $2,500 fine.

"Move Over" also applies to police, fire and VDOT trucks, but please don't forget about tow truck drivers!
