The left will try hard as they can to spin this, but there's no getting around it -- the tariffs worked. The Mexican government has officially sent a large contingent of troops to the U.S.-Mexico border in an effort to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States.

According to CNN, Mexico Secretary of Defense Luis Sandoval said that nearly 15,000 troops will be sent to the U.S.-Mexico border and an additional 2,000 National Guard troops have been sent to Mexico's southern border with Guatemala.

This comes after President Trump threatened to impose tariffs on Mexico if it did not attempt to crack down on illegal immigrants pouring into the U.S. Days before the tariffs were set to be enacted, the U.S. and Mexico struck a new deal.

Sandoval said in a statement, "Migration is not a crime, it is an administrative responsibility."
