A shocking video has emerged of a man wearing a medical mask sucker-punching an NYPD officer in the Bronx on Tuesday as the officer's partner was arresting a robbery suspect.

The New York Post reports the man in the video is 31-year-old Nelson Jimenez, who attacked the officer near 183rd Street and Davidson Avenue as Yoemdy Castro, 27, was being arrested for his suspected involvement in a robbery.

One officer is seen pinning Castro to the ground and placing handcuffs on him as his partner stands over them. That's when Jimenez walks up behind the officer standing up and punches him in the side of the head twice

The officer then turns around and fires his taser at Jimenez, but it is unknown if he hit him. The cowardly Jimenez runs away as the crowd cheers him on. He was later caught and arrested nearby. Charges against him are pending.
