Jens Soering and Elizabeth Haysom, who were convicted in 1985 of the brutal murders of Haysom's parents, were granted parole on Monday and will be released to immigration officials for deportation to their native countries of Germany and Canada, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Derek and Nancy Haysom were murdered in their home in Bedford County in act "instigated" by Haysom and committed by Soering, who were romantically involved and students at the University of Virginia at the time.

Haysom plead guilty as an accessory to the killings and testified against Soering, who has maintained his innocence for decades after initially confessing.
