Lexus Leadership Award Nominees

This program celebrates RVA's most talented scholar-athletes who have been nominated by school officials from the high school they attend.  Thirty gifted nominees will be selected.  At the end of the school year, all of the students, along with their parents and coaches, come together for an exciting banquet where the Lexus of Richmond Leadership Award Winner is named.  That title comes with a $10,000 stipend.  Check in weekly throughout the school year to learn more about each of our talented student nominees.  If you are a student seeking information regarding the program, and nomination process, check in with your school guidance office or call 804.323.8000 for details.

LAUREN MURPHY Lexus of Richmond’s week 12 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Lauren Murphy of Mills E. Godwin High School. Currently with a 4.17 GPA, Lauren is a member of the National Honor Society. She is additionally a member of the Math Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and the English Honor Society. Learn more. 

SAM MOORE Lexus of Richmond’s 11th nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Sam Moore of St. Christopher’s School. Having been on high honor roll every semester of high school, Sam has a current 4.6 GPA. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction, and Sam scored a 1530 out of 1600 on the SAT Exam. Learn more

KATY WERWATH The 10th nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Leadership Award is Katy Werwath of Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School. With a 4.86 GPA, Katy is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Latin & Science Honor Societies. Having scored a perfect 5 on all six of her AP exams, Katy is an AP Scholar with Distinction. Learn more

ELBY OMOHUNDRO Lexus of Richmond’s week 9 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Elby Omohundro of St. Christopher’s School. With his current 4.2 GPA, Elby has received high honors every semester while attending St. Chris. He is on the Double Accelerated Math Track, meaning; Elby completed the AP Calculus AB course as a sophomore and the AP Calculus BC course as a junior. Learn more

SALLY SNEAD Our week 8 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship at Lexus of Richmond is Sally Snead of Trinity Episcopal School. Having a current GPA of 4.5, Sally has been on the Honor Roll consistently throughout 2015, 2016 and 2017. She has also been on the Headmaster’s List from 2015-2017. In 2017 Sally received the William and Mary Leadership Award. Learn more. 

NARMEEN RASHID Lexus of Richmond’s week 7 nominee for the Leadership Award scholarship is Narmeen Rashid of Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School. With a current 4.72 GPA, Narmeen has scored a 1540 out of 1600 on the SAT exam and perfect scores of 800 on the SAT Math 2 and SAT Chemistry 2. Additionally she has earned 6 perfect AP scores, making her an AP Scholar with Distinction. Learn more. 

EVE MADDOCK Lexus of Richmond’s week 6 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Eve Maddock of Saint Gertrude High School. With her current 4.49 GPA, Eve has received two perfect scores on final AP exams and a 33 out of 36 on the ACT test. She has received recognition from Saint Gertrude for her achievements in various subjects with the Spanish, Geometry, English Department Awards (5 awards in total). Learn more

JOE BECK Lexus of Richmond’s week 5 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Joe Beck of St. Christopher’s School. Having a current GPA of 4.6, Joe scored a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT exam. He has received 4 perfect scores on final AP exams making him an AP Scholar with Distinction. Joe ended sophomore and junior year with the top GPA of his class. Learn more.

WALKER BARKSTROM Our week 4 nominee for the Lexus Leadership Award at Lexus of Richmond is Walker Barkstrom of Douglas Freeman High School. Walker is currently ranked first in a class of 393 students with a 4.62 GPA. On the ACT exam he received a perfect score of 36, and he scored a perfect 800 on the SAT Chemistry exam. Having completed 9 AP courses Walker scored a perfect 5 on every final AP exam. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish NHS, and Mu Alpha Theta. As a junior, Walker received the Centre College Fellow Award for Academic Distinction and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal for the Study of Science and Mathematics. Learn more. 

MOHINI JOHRI Lexus of Richmond’s week 3 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Mohini Johri of The Collegiate School. An AP Scholar with Distinction, Mohini scored a 1550 out of 1600 on the SAT test and has a current 4.27 GPA. In 2018 she participated in the Cochrane Summer Economic Institute Internship at Startup Virginia, and she completed an internship with a physician at VCU. Following her research on ‘The Effect of Various Chewing Gum Flavors on the Reduction of Mouth Microbes’, Mohini took 3rd place at the Virginia Junior Academy of Science in 2015. This school year, she received The Collegiate School’s nomination for the Byrd Leadership Scholarship. Learn more.

ELIZA WOOFIN Lexus of Richmond’s week 2 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Eliza Woodfin of St. Catherine’s School.With her current 4.23 GPA, Eliza has been on the Honor Roll or Head’s List every semester of high school. Eliza was recognized by the NFCA as an All American Scholar Athlete as a freshman and sophomore. In 2017 Eliza participated in the Ivy League Parent Teen Business Program at Harvard Business School, and she was involved in the Girl’s Advancing in STEM conference at Stanford. Recently Eliza was selected for Columbia University’s Summer Immersion Dean’s Leadership Award which is given to the top students in the program. Learn more.

LISA QIN We are excited to kick off our 24th Annual Lexus of Richmond Leadership Award nominees with Lisa Qin of Maggie Walker Governor’s School. Lisa currently has GPA of 4.67, and she scored a 1580 out of a possible 1600 on the SATs. Additionally she has received 4 perfect scores on AP tests. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish NHS, English NHS, and the American Sign Language NHS. Lisa is also the Co-President of the Science NHS and the Co-Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta. In 2018 Lisa received a Gold Medal for the National Spanish Exam. She has also received the Virginia Dental Association Research Award. Lisa was a finalist for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and Lisa was the Grand Prize Winner for the Metro Richmond Science Fair. Learn more.
